Laminated flooring refers to surface coated wooden flooring, which, in contrast to affixed hardwood flooring, is used on sub floors and is laid on the floor without a permanent bond. It is generally applied after you have installed your kitchen cabinet. Hence, it becomes quite a challenging task to laminate the floor, especially near the cabinets.
To start with, begin laying the flooring in rows against a straight wall. Continue laying the rows till you arrive in close vicinity to the cabinet. Measure the remaining area & accordingly, cut the flooring with a small margin of about a quarter inch. If you have ample margin beneath the cabinets to accommodate the flooring, create grooves in the flooring. Else, remove them with a circular saw & affix them using some wood glue. Remove the tongue section and flush the boards against each other. Use a standard floor trim to cover any occurring gaps. In case of longer trims, use the circular saw.
